Got Misa(ome) Borders

Blogging from a walk-in clinic waiting room on a beautiful {so far} Sunday afternoon. My roommate needed to see a doctor to confirm she wasn't dying {she's been coughing for weeks} and so I decided to escort her because I am such a great friend, obviously.

Today's post consists of a new brand to me as well as a new design/trend. I picked up this Misa polish a week ago from Trade Secrets, called Deep Breath. The store is currently holding a buy-2-get-1-free promotion and based on what I've seen so far, I'll probably be picking up a few more myself {as if I needed the excuse to begin with}.

The trend I speak of is border nails but I've done a little something different than the solid border as some of you may have seen. Dotting tools are so simple and inexpensive, yet so fun to use at the same time.

{border} China Glaze's Smoke and Ashes & Misa's Heaven White
{top coat} Seche Vite Dry Fast

Misa's Deep Breath is a muted bluish grey that could have been opaque in just one coat {I used two here to make up for my less-than-stellar application skills}. The colour definitely leans more grey in person with just a teensy subtle bluish tint. It is a gorgeous colour and I am very happy with the quality of my Misa nail lacquers so far. What is disappointing however, is that my China Glaze Smoke and Ashes didn't show up in photos as I hoped it would {as many other bloggers and nail devotees have said, "It's a colour you just HAVE to see in person"}.

By now {the end} I hope the title to this post has not been lost on most of you :) I am a dork at heart. So what do you think of the border nail trend?

{NOTD} Sunset with Parker

We should probably start off with a truth, a disclaimer of sorts, because every healthy relationship is based on truth and honesty right? I am in no way a professional nail artiste. I probably wouldn't even call myself a nail aficionadookay, that's a fib and I'm sorry {after all, I do plan on showcasing some nail polish stuffs on this blog}. Nail polish has become one of my favourite pastimes these last few years so from time to time, I will be posting pictures of my scraggly nails and hope that you will remember I am just a simple nail junkie when leaving me sweet, encouraging comments {a girl can dream}. Maybe I'll post about how I became obsessed with nail lacquer one day but who wants to start off a blog with so much text in today's fragmented, predominantly online skimming era? I doubt you do so here is my first nail of the day from a while back.

I could tell you this NOTD was inspired by blogger's signature colour or that I'm so in sync with the season's Pantone colour but truthfully I came up with this nail because {a} my Julep Maven April box had just arrived {b} I had some streaking near the tips and {c} I wanted to spruce it up a bit and make my nails pop.

I couldn't have timed the sunset any better than this {I promise I finished painting right before this photo was taken} and so I like to think this manicure was destined to be named Sunset with Parker; now to find a boy named Parker :)
